Prof. Dr. Fatih Gultekin was born in Konya, Turkey, in 1966. He graduated from Selçuk University, School of Medicine in 1990. Then, he started to work in Konya Government Hospital as a medical doctor. He finished his PhD education in the field of biochemistry in Selçuk University in 1996. He became Assistant Professor of Biochemistry in 1997, Associate Professor in 2002 and Full Professor in 2007 in School of Medicine, Süleyman Demirel University.

During 2015 – 2017 he carried out founder Dean of Medical Faculty, Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University. He was awarded Fulbright postdoctoral scholarship and went to The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, TX, USA, to make researches. He gave seminars about food additives during the stay in the US. In 2012, Turkish Academy of Sciences accepted his membership.

Nutrition and food additives are his main interest areas. He wrote four books about food additives:

  • Food Additives from A to Z (Ancyclopedic Dictionary)
  • Consumer Guide Intended for Food Additives
  • Food Additives at a Glance (Consize Tables)

He has more than one hundred studies, published in journals and presented in congress. He carried out the first coordinator of Halal and Healthy Food Platform between 2010-2017.

After 2017, he continued his carrier at the University of Health Sciences, Istanbul, TURKEY. At present, he is a full professor in the Department of Medical Biochemistry, School of Medicine, and the Dean of the International School of Medicine in the same university.
